A Night I will Never Forget
Hello everyone! I love living in Utah, and feel grateful for the opportunities it has provided. One of those opportunities came last night. I was able to go to the viewing of President Hinckley. We were told the viewing would be in the conference center, I think that building is something that will remind people of him for centuries. We went through security and went into the auditorium. The let us go upstairs one row at a time. As we went up the escalators, everyone was very quite. One of the rooms in the conference center is called the President's Room. They have a statue of each one of the prophets head. One wall is all windows that looks directly onto the Salt Lake Temple. As we walked into the room, it smelt amazing, there were flowers everywhere. Each flower arrangement had a note, and was from a certain group (The First Presidency, quorum of the twelve, Relief society, etc). In the center of the room was President Hinckley's casket. It was an open casket, and you got to walk right by it. Like I said it was silent in the room, and very peaceful. He Looked so Happy. He was dressed in His white suit, and had a smile on his face. It was unbelievable thinking that the body I was looking at went and saw so many different things. I saw his hands and wondered how many hands he had shaked. They were the hands that signed the proclamation to the family, the signed the approval of close to 100 temples, they were the hands that signed my mission call, and so much more. He was a great man, and will always be remembered. He looked happy and I know he is. As we left the room, there was no crying or weeping, but just memories of an example and life he lived. As we walked down the hall, they had more flower arrangement, however they were from family. Sons and daughters, grandkids, greatgrandkids. There were pictures. We saw his son Elder Richard Hinckley. It was so rewarding and worth the trip. After we ate at the roof on top of the Joseph Smith Building. It was amazing! Then went to the Choir Practice. They were practicing there songs for the funeral, and sounded amazing. After each song the conductor would tell a story, about the prophet. Then the choir went over for a private viewing, with the family. Imagine having a personal concert with the Mormon tabernacle Choir. It was one of my favorite nights so far in Utah. I went with my roommate and met Bishop down there. No Pictures of the viewing...Not allowed

Happy Birthday Austin!
Austin and Michelle went on a 4 day trip to S. California to celebrate his Birthday! What a great time he had with mom all to himself. They went to Disneyland everyday, to see the play "Wicked", and to visit some great friends!
